http://www.parks.ca.gov/Events/Details/10982 Join us for an opportunity to catch a glimpse of our breath-taking national symbol, the Bald Eagle! Eagle Counts are held on the 2nd Saturday of the month January through March (Jan 12, Feb 9, & Mar 9). The best time of year to see bald eagles in Southern California is during winter months. As a volunteer, you will join others stationed at vantage points around the lake, where you will watch for bald eagles during a 1-hour period. A couple of spotting scopes will be available. If you have binoculars or spotting scopes, please bring them. Brief orientations are conducted prior to the count so you will know where to go and what to do. No prior experience required. Bring your camera! There are some fantastic opportunities for excellent close-up photographs too. RSVP is not necessary, except for groups over ten people. Contact the museum for more information at 951-940-5657 Meeting Location: Ya'i Heki' Regional Indian Museum at Lake Perris Cost: Free—Park entrance is free for volunteers
